runways, worldwide. Now, you do not have to go through all the spring/summer 2016 fashion shows to find out what’s hot what’s not. We did that for you and now we give you the short list of the hottest hair and makeup trends for the upcoming season.
Hair Trends
The biggest hit in the year behind us, when it comes to hairstyle, was contouring, and let us see what
2016 has to say about that:
● Bob Is In Again
Bob is a classical hairstyle which
survived many fashion turnarounds and remained equally stylish and fashionable. This year, besides the classic bob, we will see a lot of “wobs” too – wavy bobs. They will be worn in both elegant variant and the devil-may-care casual way.
● Twist It Low
Twisted buns are all the rage in 2016. We have seen them on Jason Wu’s, Zac Posen’s runways and we will see them on the streets more and more. The hairstyle can be easily made by real women at home and it is perfect for various occasions. Just remember to go low, top knots had their moment of glory, and it is gone.
● Natural Beauty
This year is all about natural beauty. We will see no more bright and conspicuous hair colors (green, pink, etc.). Nourished and healthy hair will be your best asset during spring and summer months, and really, what can be more attractive than that? Sounds illogical, we know, but here is the thing; the combination of simplicity and dramatic makeup will be one of the biggest trends of 2016. The goal is to create contrast between bright red lips, strongly defined brows and simple makeup and hairstyle.
● It’s All About the Blues
Makeup artists surprised us with cerulean hue which reminds as on Picasso in his finest “blue days”. We have seen electric-blue liner at Hugo Boss show, cobalt cream across the lids in a grungy manner at Marc Jacobs, light blue across the lids at Bibhu Mohapatra and Monique Lhuillier, and just slight hints of blue in eye corners at Philip Lim.
● Matte Lips
Though 2015 was the year when we started really loving the matte shades for our lips, this year will bring them even more to the spotlight. Matte lips in dark hues (Oxblood, blueberry, burgundy, purple etc.) combined with
party-eye flawless look will be seen in every noteworthy event in 2016.
